Mariposa celebrates its namesake at the town’s Annual Butterfly Festival. Mariposa means     Butterfly in Spanish.  The 2012 Butterfly Festival will take place Friday, May 4th, Saturday, May 5th, and Sunday, May 6th, 2012.  The Festival is a Fun Filled Family Weekend that includes Live Butterfly Releases, Parade, Art & Artisan Show and Live Entertainment.  There are also many other family friendly events throughout the weekend.
